Flying Start Childcare in Cardiff

Flying Start Childcare

The Flying Start programme offers part-time, high-quality childcare for 2-3 year olds. This is an important aspect of the programme as it helps young children learn how to play with others and enjoy a variety of experiences that can prepare them for life as they grow, learn and develop. Our Flying Start settings offer a warm, nurturing environment that will feel inviting and safe for the young children that attend.

When children attend high-quality Early Years settings they learn many useful skills which support them through their developing years with communication, literacy and maths and socialising. They will be surrounded by caring, supportive adults who are skilled in understanding why these earliest years are so important.

Large studies like EPPE (2004) and EPPSE (2015) show that children who go to high-quality childcare do better in many areas of learning and are well prepared to thrive in the world around them. That’s why Flying Start works hard to make sure all childcare is the best it can be.

To help staff do this, there are lots of useful resources and support available. Flying Start settings aim to be great examples of what excellent childcare looks like across Wales.
